Romney Marsh Wools was born through a firm belief that we wanted to raise awareness of all the benefit that British wool can bring. Natural wool has so many excellent qualities as it is renewable, sustainable and incredibly versatile. Not only can you use the wool itself but you can even use the lanolin which sheep also produce naturally and which can be extracted once the sheep have been shorn. More information

Romney Tweed CIC, a social enterprise, has the twin aims of encouraging local industry by using the wool of the Romney sheep to make tweed cloth and of helping young people acquire skills and jobs. It was borne out of a desire to create employment and raise aspirations on the Romney Marsh, one of the most deprived areas in the south-east of England.
Designs of the commercially woven tweed are now available by the metre. Weaving courses have been introduced this year; the next one is due to take place on 14-15 April 2018. For further details, please contact Romney Tweed email or at the address below.
